A wistful comedy about Kevin, a teenager facing the rites of passage every boy does on his way to adulthood. Using the voice-over of a grown-up Kevin as narration, the series is a nostalgic look back for its audience at not only what it was like to be young, but of a particular time and place in cultural history.

In each episode, the older Kevin provides funny commentary on himself as a young man trying to cope with the sometimes bizarre world of being a teenager. With a dry sense of humor and the insight one gains with maturity, Kevin narrates his adventures with bullies, sex education and girls.

The main characters in Kevin’s life are his kitchen-locked Mom, moody Father, know-it-all sister Karen, and older brother Wayne, who seems to exist only to torment his younger brother. Then there’s Winnie, the girl of his dreams — if she only would go out with him. Add to this his brainy friend Paul who’s allergic to everything and you have a comic portrait of coming of age, framed by the political and pop culture zeitgeist of the times.
