Dim-witted petty crook Earl has taken one too many wrong turns in life. However, after Earl wins the lottery he has an epiphany and becomes determined to transform his good fortune into a life-changing event. Moments later, a car hits him. While in the hospital, Earl discovers the concept of karma while watching a talk show, and he decides to set out to correct every bad thing he's done by making a list of his wrongs and atoning for them – one by one.
Joining Earl on his quest are his thickheaded friends: the sexy Catalina, his hapless brother Randy, and Darnell, the owner of the place where Earl drinks beer. Only Earl’s ex-wife Joy won't lift a finger to help unless there’s something in it for her.
Despite his limited intelligence, Earl is oddly effective, narrating each of his adventures in making amends with a style of his own.
