MR. BELVEDERE is a sitcom centering on a middle-class family in an idyllic suburb who hire a posh butler to help them manage their chaotic household.
The family is composed of George, a sports writer; his wife, Marsha; 16-year-old Kevin, 14-year-old Heather; and 8-year-old Wesley. When Marsha, a homemaker and law-student, can't handle the craziness of the family anymore along with her studying, she places an ad for a housekeeper. Enter Mr. Belvedere, a witty English butler whose previous employers include famous politicians and royalty. Mr. Belvedere instantly becomes one of the family, managing domestic chores, taking on cooking with his culinary expertise, as well as serving as a mentor to the kids, occasionally giving them advice on how to solve their problems.
At the end of each episode, Mr. Belvedere writes an entry in his journal about the comic drama that occurred in each storyline.
