MALCOM IN THE MIDDLE is an inventive family comedy about growing up the middle child, told from the point of view of Malcolm, a normal kid whose world has been turned upside down when it's discovered he has a genius IQ.
On each episode, our hero navigates the pitfalls of his eccentric family along with his place at school among the misfit “gifted” students. At home, Malcolm’s mom rules his dysfunctional household like a tyrant, while his bumbling father seems barely able to parent. His oldest and favorite brother has been sent away to military school, leaving Malcolm in the middle between his troublemaking next oldest brother, and a much younger one, who simply stands watching helplessly.
At times, Malcolm will turn and directly address the camera about what’s happening – providing insight into the clever mind of our young hero and his ideas on what it means to grow up.
