DR. BILL HOFFMAN is a brilliant therapist and the author of several definitive psychotherapy texts. When it comes to his patients, Bill has his work cut out for him: each of them seems more unbalanced than the next, and he relishes bestowing nuggets of wisdom on them. But Bill’s over-inflated ego is dealt a severe blow when he has to come to grips with the end of his 25-year marriage. What could this master of the mind have done wrong?
On each episode of HELP ME HELP YOU, Bill’s ensemble of unstable patients comically struggle with a variety of problems while Bill himself struggles with his own. Bill’s attempts to help his patients learn something about themselves do yield results, but none of them ever stop being ridiculously neurotic. Through it all, Bill emerges as the one most in need of listening to his own advice. Despite his rock star doctor fame, Bill is actually just the opposite of the relaxed guru he’d like everyone to believe he is.
